sometimes i get so amazed by the wondrous capacity that boys hold to do infinitely stupid things, and then further gobsmackingly impressed by their ability to not even know it.
then i realize we girls aren’t that much better off.

That’s it. Too many boys whinging. Puh-lease BRO. Stop putting all your energy into trying to text funny things to make her laugh, or saying how you are showing her how beautiful she is to you.
Don’t you get it? A woman needs more than a best friend or an admirer. She needs a protector, a leader, a provider, a listener, a hero, someone to look up to. She needs someone who will drop his pride to show how much he really cares deep inside- how much she is worth to him- yet hold enough pride to know who he is, what he wants and just how great he can be, and dares to be great. Someone who knows that where he needs to go is scary but is brave enough to run forward, someone who knows that he can’t do it alone, and someone who dares to ask her to go with him, someone who can assure her that he will never leave her or turn back no matter how hard the road gets, and that no matter what he will lay down whatever he has to fight for her because nothing in this world would matter if he didn’t have her.
That’s it, plain, simple & cheesy.
GEEZ BOIZ.
I know that you feel left out right now; that no matter how hard you strive, you just can’t seem to fit in. It’s okay not to care about the teenage action movies everyone is crazy about. You don’t have to pretend to like the things that they like, just so they will talk to you, or include you. It may sound like a revolutionary idea now, but punk rock doesn’t actually make you cool, and trust me, reading is definitely cool. Seriously, your “friends” are just plain idiots when they make fun of you for reading to satisfy your curiosity. When I say “idiots”, I mean literal ones. Believe me when I tell you that you have no idea how far reading actually gets you. For one, it gets you much further than those who don’t.
I promise you that you will soon meet people who are going to blow your mind. One day you are going to realize that you don’t actually want people who share the same interests or hobbies or thoughts as you. You’re going to want them to be as different as they come. You’re going to want them to tell you that they hate the things you like. And you’re going to want to tell them the same. And do you know why? Because they’re going to paint a world with their stories, with their photographs, and just simply by who they are. You’re going to want to start meeting people from all over the world, who have done things you now wouldn’t even imagine yourself wanting to try out too. And you will spend hours sitting at some musty bar drinking substances your liver will never forgive you for, or at some retro cafe eating overpriced food you could easily make at home. You’ll find yourself taking the long way around with them, just so you can finish hearing the end of their story. And they are going to do the same.
They’re going to tell you that no matter how unconventional your interests are, or how much they think your favourite author is just a joke, or how far away from them you live, they are going to be there for you. Even though you were so busy with work and uni the last five times they asked you to hang, they will still ask again. They’ll leave for weeks to pursue their own adventures and you might not know when you’ll see them again, but when they get back, they’ll call. That when the days are sometimes unbearably isolated, quiet or exhausting, they’ll drop a message, or they’ll drop by. Even though they will come across many more interesting and unique people like yourself, they always hold a space for you in their heart. And do you know what the best part of all this is?
You’re going to call them friends.
